Profile:
Oprah Winfrey was born in Mississippi, but moved from state to state for various reasons, many being family trouble. Studying Communications at Tennessee State University lead to her career as a local television news anchor, which lead to her moving to Chicago to present "AM Chicago", a poorly rating show, which ended up becoming the much more successful "The Oprah Winfrey Show", broadcasting nation-wide in 1986. The Wall Street Journal considers her wit, intelligence, and attitude to the audience to be the reason why the show succeeded. Becoming a executive producer on the show meant she was able to make greater creative decisions, including expanding the Oprah show into a magazine, a radio channel, a book club, and even a television network.

How has she contributed to the creative industry:
Her creativity changed journalism, day time television, and even the cultural attitudes of America. She has promoted many charitable causes, critically acclaimed books, films, plays, writers, actors, musicians, scientists, and the like. Her show's main location in Chacago has help reinvigorate the city, as well as help launch other critically awarded shoes such as the "Dr. Phil" show and "Doctors". She's also producerd "Precious" an motion picture adaptation of the award winning novel.

Profile:
Lindsey "Lyn-Z" nee Ballato is an American musician and artist, currently living in Los Angelos. She is most well known for her musical performance in the band "Mindless Self Indulgence", as a bass player, which she met after the manager of the band was introduced to her at an art gallery, which was holding an exhibition to her and two other artists that night. Apart from her study of fine art and illustration at the Pratt Institute, she was an window display artists for many New York fashion designers and was an assistant to painter Ron English. Before she was the bass player for "Mindless Self Indulgence", she was also in a Dolly Parton punk parody tribute band called "Beg your Parton".

How has she contributed to the creative industry:
Many of her early art exhibitions were actually in disused buildings in New York city, seeing it as a way to give back to the community, as it would possibly be a form of urban renewal. She is one of the few female musicians and bass players in a popular band, and has remarked that she wanted to become what she is because she never had anyone like herself to look up to. She still holds exhibitions. Her current one "Hush" is in Los Angelos.
